About Me

As a native Dutchman I’ve been helping foreign students for about 1 year now. I’m currently majoring Spanish in college and have a lot of foreign classmates who ask me for help with their Dutch regularly. For my internship I’ve been helping students with learning problems (and problems with Dutch) as well.

Although I prefer a natural approach over textbook instruction, I’m more than happy to support people using a textbook. I’ve helped people before who were using “Teach Yourself Beginners Dutch” and “Teach Yourself Dutch”. There are countless ways to reinforce a textbook with fun conversations and stories.

Because I’ve helped foreigners before, both raw beginners and more advanced learners, I’m able to cut and edit my lessons in order to help the students in the best way possible. As I’ve said before, I mainly use a natural approach. This includes storytelling together with comprehensible explanations. More grammar-oriented students are welcome as well, of course.

I’ve been studying Spanish full-time for about one and a half years now. In that time I’ve reached a fairly fluent level which enables me to help students giving their Spanish a kick-start.

Last year I’ve been assisting English and Spanish teachers teaching high school students. As I love involving students in everything and make language learning a fun experience, I began using methods which enable me to do so. Also, because I learned Spanish from scratch, I know what students encounter in general and can help them with these struggles.

So if you want to reinforce your Spanish or if you’re a raw beginner, I’m someone who can help you most definitely.
