On my off time I enjoy teaching English and both styles of Chinese Mandarin, 國語 and 普通话. Although I am also able to speak Russian, Japanese, Turkish and a smattering of other languages, I primarily focus on the aforementioned. I am strong proponent of the Sapir–Whorf hypothesis, believing that language, culture and environment are all part of an integral unit and combine said components in my teaching methodology. I have taught both core languages here and abroad for the past 15 years with my most recent sabbatical stints at Taiwan’s Tainan University, China’s Hainan University and numerous Global IELTS Schools throughout China.
During the day I am a Polyglot managing director of information technology and security systems firm with 19+ years of strong domestic and international IT systems operations, development, and security experience. I have expert knowledge of Asia, Specifically Taiwan, Japan and China.
