BA, MA in teaching German as a foreign language and German literature with elements of the culture and history of Germany (German Studies, MA thesis in literature), near-native (professional) fluency in German, several stays in Germany (Berlin, Hamburg, Hildesheim, Mainz)
Illinois Teaching Certification in German (Kindergarten to K12), working as a substitute in high school (German, Special Education)
More than 7 yrs of experience in teaching and tutoring German (language and literature): privately, in elementary school, in a language high school (intensive program of German), in an agricultural high school, and in language centers: Global LT, Inlingua, DANK, etc.

I just had my first lesson with Iwona, and I must say that I am impressed! She was extremely generous and patient, but also kept me on task. She clearly gets my specific goals when it comes to learning German, so I feel like I have landed in the right place. I'm excited :)
I came to Iwona looking to improve with my Polish abilities and help me prepare for a language test for my job. I had a basic understanding of the language, but had not read in Polish in years and had picked up a number of "bad habits" when speaking. Iwona was able to identify the areas I needed to work on and prepare a custom tutoring program to address those weak areas. With Iwona's help, I was able to pass my exam.
I am a German student of Iwona’s. I came to her with no prior experience with the language and in my mid thirties. My goal was to become strongly conversational in a little less than 5 months, with little more time to be taught then 2 hours a week. She has helped me attain this goal plus so much more I never believed I could accomplish.
Her ability to connect with me and her talent at teaching simple concepts, as well as more advanced topics, are both truly superior. She has excellent written and verbal communication skills, is extremely organized, reliable, very creative and exceptionally computer literate.
