Tutor
Hello! I am Agro from Indonesia. I currently live in Purwokerto (Central Java) but have previously stayed at Yogyakarta (DIY) and Bandung (West Java), enjoying the unique culture and atmosphere each place holds.
I’ve also been overseas. I lived in Australia when I was 5 years old and stayed in Thailand during my high school years. I would love to go to Japan and USA someday.
Now I am studying Japanese. I’ve been studying it for around 5 years and will take JLPT level 1 (Japanese Language Proficiency Test, highest level) this December. If you’re a beginning Japanese student, I can help you get up to speed.
I love playing the ancient board game go. I was one of the founders of Yogyakarta Igo Community (YIC) and the translator for the Indonesian version of Hiroki Mori’s Interactive Way to Go. I am now ranked 5-kyu on YIC’s ladder system, in which one of the players (called “acuan”, meaning "reference") is an active KGS player and is anchored to their KGS rank. If you want to get introduced to the game or improve your playing abilities, we can hold a teaching session at KGS. Note: I only accept beginners up to 20-kyu for tutoring right now.

Agro is a great tutor! He nicely presents the material which we go over in our sessions, he is patient and complete in his instruction. Our last session he had a powerpoint presentation, which after our session concluded he sent to me so I may look back at for reference. He is extremely helpful and friendly when answering questions or when you don't understand something he has explained. I look forward to our lessons each week, because I know I will learn something new and cover new material which is never dull or boring. Anyone who is looking for someone to tutor them in Japanese should no doubt contact Agro!
Agro doesn't have any testimonials yet.
